The oldest comments I could find on the channel regarding the Skogsö Jacket dates back to 2018. Then some questions about if I could make a review on it in 2020 and three years later here we are..! I’m sorry, I should have made this review a lot sooner. To me, having the Keb jacket when I first started making videos, I couldn’t really see why I would like the Skogsö Jacket, I mean what does it have that the Keb jacket doesn’t?

Well, turns out that there’s a few things that I prefer from the Skogsö Jacket compared to both the Keb Jacket and the Vidda Pro Jacket.

The first thing you’ll notice is the look. If you’re like me you probably end up using your outdoor jackets when you're stuck in the city for work or studies. This can make you look like you’re climbing a mountain in the middle of the city or that you got lost from the woods. With the Skogsö Jacket you don’t feel that way at all, it sports a minimalistic look with a design that makes you blend in.

For the trained eye there’s clues to be found, the slightly larger hood, the two-way zippers and the drawcords around the waist and hood tips you off that this jacket is capable of so much more. On the flip side you probably feel a bit off wearing a suit in the woods, but not wearing the Skogsö Jacket. The jacket truly shines when you’re going for a walk in the woods, it will not throw you over with features you don’t need, instead it will silently just work exactly as you want it to and let you focus on the surrounding nature. It will protect you from wind while also keeping you cool once you start to move. It can handle light showers of rain, it’s waxable which let’s you control the breathability and water repellency of the jacket depending on your specific environment. The snaps and drawcords let you fine tune the ventilation as you move through the terrain. oh and It also looks good in the woods...

So, are there any downsides to this jacket? That of course can only be answered by your expectations of the Skogsö jacket. If you’re expecting a breathable, windproof rain jacket with all the bells + whistles with the pockets to match you’d probably be disappointed, but if you’re in the market for a jacket that looks good and works wonders in both the city and outdoors you got it!

Through the years of testing different jackets I slowly and in the hard way realized that there isn’t one jacket to fit every occasion, you might come close with some jackets but you always find yourself short of some key features when you need them the most.

Comparing the Skogsö Jacket to the Keb and Vidda Pro Jackets you got the Keb jacket that’s specifically made for hiking with a backpack, hence no pockets around the waist area, the large hood allows for a ski helmet, whereas in the Skogsö jacket you might fit one with a little help. You could use the Keb jacket in the city but it will look slightly overkill.

The Vidda Pro jacket has tons of pockets and is made to be sturdy and hardwearing, clearly an outdoor jacket that’d be really nice to have around camp or when doing bushcraft type things. If that’s the look your’e going for then by all means use it in the city too.

To summarize; if you’re someone who likes nice walks in the woods or a nearby park this jacket is for you. If you’re looking for wind protection and a nice looking jacket then this jacket is also for you. For people who are looking for one jacket that works great in the city and in the woods, this is for you. For the ultra survivors who will spend a lot of time in wet conditions this jacket is for you.. kidding, i’d look at the Keb Eco shell or something similar in that case.
