Morakniv Kansbol Dala Red Edition – A Winter Night With The Perfect Knife
We might not be able to travel through time just yet, but nature slows us down – and in that stillness, time flies.
That’s how I feel when I step into the forest. This time, I had the luxury of building my own shelter and adjusting the temperature using nothing but a knife.
🏕️ Building a Winter Shelter – Bushcraft in Practice
After a 3.5-hour drive, I found myself in the middle of nowhere. The sun was about to set, and I had to move quickly. I scouted the perfect spot between two spruce trees and began collecting branches.
Lean-to setup with Y-shaped branches and fir twigs
Floor insulation using spruce rice
Firewood strategy: double what you think you need… then get more
🔥 The First Use – Fire Prep With The Kansbol Knife
Once the shelter was up, it was time to make fire. I used the Morakniv Kansbol to:
Sharpen wood
Collect birch bark
Scrape thin curls for tinder
Create sparks with the 90° spine + fire steel
It performed beautifully – even with wet hands and thick gloves, thanks to the TPE-rubber grip.
